Day 1:  Arrive Saigon airport and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight Saigon.
Day 2:  Panoramic morning tour of Saigon’s historic landmarks including the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, the former Presidential Palace, City Opera House and City Hall.  Afternoon excursion to the famous Cu Chi tunnels.

Day 3:  Today you will journey to the Mekong Delta, the "Rice Bowl" of southern Vietnam.  Early morning departure by boat to Ben Tre where you will visit a rice farm, candy workshop and honey bee farm.  Journey by Xe Loi (motorized rickshaw) to the banks of the Mekong River, then journey by sampan through canals and mangrove forests, while watching the fishermen lay their traps.  Enjoy time on Unicorn Island visiting fruit, honey and tea farms. You will be invited  to experience a locally produced folkshow of traditional Mekong Delta music and dance.  Enjoy a lunch featuring local specialties.

Day 4:  Early morning transfer to the airport for flight to Hue, the ancient capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty. Afternoon visit to the Imperial Purple Palace and the magnificent mausoleums of emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh.

Day 5:  Morning dragon-boat ride on the Huong Giang (Perfume River) to Thien Mu Pagoda.  Depart Hue by car across the Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds), where spectacular panoramas of the central coastline can be viewed from the summit of the mountains. Mid-afternoon arrival into Hoi An, a well-preserved 600-year old town which was once an important international trading port.  It is an architectural living museum with its eclectic mix of restored homes, winding streets and ancient bridges.

Day 6:  During a walking tour of Hoi An, enjoy tea in one of the beautiful merchant’s houses followed by a visit to the colorful market brimming with tropical specialties.  This afternoon take a short drive to DaNang to visit the Cham Museum and China Beach.

Day 7:   Transfer to DaNang airport for flight to Hanoi.  Upon arrival transfer directly by car to HaLong Bay.

Day 8:  4-hour boat cruise into HaLong Bay amongst the 3000 karst islands rising mysteriously out of the sea. Fresh seafood lunch will be served on board.  Return to Hanoi with a stop in Bat Trang ceramic village.

Day 9:  Morning city tour includes Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, Temple of Literature and One Pillar Pagoda.  Afternoon cyclo ride in Hanoi’s Old Town.  Evening performance of Vietnamese Water Puppets at Thang Long Theatre.
